About the marmot post

Hi there!

Thanks for reading the marmot post. I started writing it a few years ago, because most of the times when I tried to research a hiking trip online, I only ever found bitty information.

I’ve been posting the patched up bits here together with trip reports and anything else hiking and trekking related that might be worth sharing.

I used to live in London – hence the England and Wales posts. I am now based in Munich, which makes exploring the Alps a lot easier.

Hi,
I love your post on planning a shortened version of the Alta Via 1.
I had trouble opening the page that gives me options for shortening the route. Would you mind resenting that link or just guiding my fumbling technical skills in the right direction.

    Hi! Love this site. Thank you. I will be in Munich in December. Are there any reasonable nature/mountain hikes nearby which will be acceptable in winter?

Hi, I am planning to walk the first 5 days of the AV2 in the last week of June this year. If possible I would like to know more about the aided sections on this walk. Particularly on stages 4-5 as given in the Cicerone guide.

  Thanks for reading my blog and leaving a comment. Unfortunately, I’ve only walked the AV1 and don’t have first hand experience of the Alta Via 2. Looking through the Cicerone guide it sounds like the aided sections on days 4 and 5 are not via ferrate. However, my guess is as good as yours. The best way to tell will be to look at the map. Or maybe there could be more info on http://www.planetmountain.com.
